October is Manufacturing Month – and what better way to showcase the critical role manufacturing plays in our economy than to highlight that it is not just technology, but people that are facilitating its growth.
At Phoenix Laser Solutions, we always strive to be at the cutting edge of innovative processes – which means automation is a key element to our operations. We have implemented automated laser processes as part of our core services, along with a skilled team of engineers who design & build custom laser systems for customer’s in-house operations.
The future of manufacturing is undoubtedly driven by automated technology. However, this does not mean that human workers will become obsolete. Rather, roles will evolve and become more critical than ever. As automation takes over repetitive/mundane tasks, human operators can focus on innovative problem-solving and customer interaction. They become the driving force behind the creative and strategic aspects of manufacturing, ensuring that services meet the ever-changing needs of customers.
Myth: Automation solutions will replace human jobs and create job loss.
Fact: Automation ultimately works to drive efficiency, not replace workers. When implemented right, it will boost productivity, allowing companies to do more and actually create new jobs, which we have done at our facilities. As we continue to grow, we are always seeking additional new talent at Phoenix Laser.
One example (of many!) in our own operations is our automated laser welding capabilities. We have successfully integrated automatic wire feeder welding to improve speed and precision on jobs that require it. However, programming tasks, overseeing welding accuracy, and weld quality inspections are performed by our skilled workers.
The key to a successful manufacturing operation lies in keeping a balance between automated processes and human operation. Both have their strengths and limitations, and by leveraging the best of both worlds, we can achieve maximum results.
At Phoenix Laser, we invest in our team every bit as much as the latest technology. Our plant floors are full of critical thinkers and problem solvers, who are committed to upholding our mission to strive towards ingenuity. Even as technology evolves, it’s their commitment that allows us to be a leader in the manufacturing industries we serve.
At its core, manufacturing truly is a people-powered industry.
